When in doubt, take pictures.

Seriously, short days really complement my sleep cycle. I zonked out for 4 hours straight in the afternoon as soon as I got back from school. School today was rather full of crap. 80 minutes of project work, when my teacher wasn't even there, another 80 minutes of PE, when I did nothing except walk from the college section and to the swimming pool and finally with another 40 minutes of maths. *clicks tongue* What a waste of time!

But I like. Ha.

Much has happened over the past few days but it has just been because the Lazy Sean has taken over me again and I'm just too friggin' tired to update.

Last Sunday, I brought him to the Night Safari!! Can you believe how expensive the tickets are nowadays? 24 dollars for the admission ticket with the tram ride included. Outrageous! Preposterous! My dad gave me 50 dollars, admittedly thinking that the admission ticket only probably costs about less than 20 dollars? I ended up having TWO miserable dollars left - with which I could do absolutely nothing with in the park since a can of coke costs so much you'd think you were using banana notes.

Anyway, took a few pictures.

That badly taken picture on the right there is of a fish that's about as big as I am. It was huge. I just had to take a picture of it to show you guys. Just imagine. There were tons of people gawking at this colossal fish instead of looking at the animals in the night safari. Whadd'ya think?

The Night Safari tram ride was the best ride I've taken I think. The commentators that described the trail along the way spoke very well, except one who just couldn't resist the urge to prefix all her sentences with "ladies and gennn-tlemen, booooys and girrrrls". Hello, this isn't a circus for crying out loud!

Apparently, I found it quite hard to take pictures since you couldn't take pictures with flash photography. Fine, I didn't know how to turn off the flash on my camera. And I was too lazy to call my mum to ask. Bollocks.

Some people were having finger spasms on the trigger of the camera during the tram ride and it was quite hilarious how the commentator had to keep reminding them NOT to take pictures using the flash function. Shocking.

"Welcome to the night safari, the world's first night safari. Before we begin on our trail, allow me to remind you that flash photography is not (special emphasis placed on this word!) allowed as it will startle the animals.

Look towards your right and you'll catch sight of a -insert name of animal-.

*flash flash*

Allow me to remind you that flash photography is not allowed during this tram ride and throughout the Night Safari.

*flash flash flash*

Flash photography is not permitted in the Night Safari. Please keep your cameras away.

*flash flash*

I said, stop fuggin' use the flash function for goodness sake! Don't you understand English?

*
proceeds to yank tourist out of the seat and feed him to the lions. The lions seem dormant, but they're HUNG-ry. Rrrr*

Ah. Much better. Please be reminded that flash photography is not allowed. *add smiles and glitters*"

OH alright. She didn't say the words in bold and no, she didn't throw uncooperative tourists into the lions' enclosure, but what she did was she repeated her instruction about 4 times in less than a minute.

So much for "understanding English".

***

Next came the immersion programme farewell dinner which took place last night. It was so much fun at the dinner! Christl and I were so "high" after the dinner we proceeded to have a trigger happy time. Lol.

Christl and I posing for the camera. Christl's camera ran out of battery after taking four pictures in school. God knows what is wrong with her camera. How can it drain the battery life so quickly like a thirsty man in a desert who's just found water from an oasis?

We took this picture at first because she was sitting just right next to me - that's before Orlanda "kidnapped" her to the other table because Melanie was there and she couldn't leave Melanie to be correspondant-less. Oh well. Xuewei sat next to me in the end. She's a nice person too! Rajeev was on my right but he was pretty much reserved, only asking Simon whether he's alright since he was always sulking. Hehe.

All the dancers in the dance performance. Poor things. They had to suffer under the tyranny of the maniac and PMS-y dance instructor. Tsk tsk tsk. He was raving mad, I tell you.

"You're always late you know! I don know wad you're doin'!" *grammatical mistakes are intentional.*

In a nutshell, all the dancers were terrified of him because he has only one form of communication - bitch. ARGH. Can someone please award him or something? He even threatened to take Isaac out of the rehearsal because he wasn't paying attention. I mean, at the full dress rehearsal for all the flying cows in the world! I would have screamed my head off at him if he did that to me. Thankfully, I was in the song performance. Much saner, thank you.

The girls who sat at my table were great. They were amusing, amusing and amusing. Ha. The girl in the centre's from the choir too! Soprano 1! Woot. Anyway, I'm so sorry girls, 'cause I can't remember your names! Eeps.

What you see in their hands is a bowl of yam rice, which we could not finish. It was the last dish before the dessert and by then, I was stuffed with all the dishes before, like this disgusting vegetable soup, that looking at the waiter serve us the rice made me want to puke.

Yes, the rice was good, but just look at the humongous portion! ARGH!!

Timon (I think!) and Adrien displaying a duel of french boxing. Interesting! Do you know that you can use your elbows and your knees in french boxing? Ok, perhaps you didn't! =)

That's Melanie on the right! =) This was a short skit on Sun Wukong, which is a mythological character. Ok, he was a friggin' monkey endowed with special powers. Whatever. But the skit was especially funny because everytime Melanie asked a question, the girl on the left (whose name I can't remember as well!) would reply "mei you", which is Mandarin for "I didn't", in this particular context. It was soooo hilarious the way she said it because it was thick with the french accent and the fact that she had to say it 5 times just cracked me up good. Lol.

French girls doing Taekwondo. Don't mess with them! The girl on the right has really cool hair! She's got pink streaks at the side of her hair. Whoa. Try that in schools here and I assure you, your discipline master will go into convulsive fits and he'll be foaming at the mouth in no time at all. They were really good at taekwondo. Carrine looked very professional in the taekwondo attire. =)

Oh my goodness. Johan can juggle so well! He managed to juggle FIVE balls, alright! Now how many of us can even juggle three? Tsk tsk. It was amazing to see him do that, especially with much ease.

That's a picture of their item before their finale. It was a dance movement on stage to a french 80s dance number. It was extremely fun!! We were all dancing! hahaha...and they seem to had a fun onstage.

As you can see, they did a short but entertaining performances. We were very ashamed with our song and dance performances after that because it was so simple compared to theirs! Argh. And we're the hosts.

That's Victor, Sophie and Line. Sophie's Victor's girlfriend now. She's a very nice person and I'm so glad they're together. In fact, they've been together only recently and it was no surprise really, when I asked him, 'cause they were really close friends at the start of the immersion programme.

You know, there are some things in life you know you'll never forget and I think this immersion programme is one of them. I've learnt a lot hosting Victor and although I wouldn't say my french has improved big time, I've learnt about the importance of being a good host! Sigh. They're leaving tomorrow. That's fast. 3 weeks are gone in a flash. I'll remember everything that happened. Especially the time he asked me to get a cab for him to take to Borders just so that he could join Sophie for the release of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". Altogether now, AWWW.

Vous me manquerez.

I'm still alive, thank you.

Yes. I sprained my fingers while doing my standing broad jump for PE the other day. Just don't ask me how. It's bloody embarrassing. Haha.

Anyway, it's been a long week and it's finally the end of thursday! Thursday my favourite day. Yay. On other days, the ennui of having lectures and tutorials back to back really drives me crazy.

Block test turned out ok I guess.

Economics - A (yesyesyesyesyesyes!!)
Mathematics - D (ok, this one fell waaay below expectations.)
Biology - E (that's about as far as I can go after scrutinising my paper for one and a half more marks. boo.)
Chemistry - B
French - A1 (yay!)
General Paper - B4 (60 on the dot!)

So that's settled. Now time to slack! Hahaha. I'm just going to finish up my final 8 mark question for my mitosis tutorial before I play play play play play. Yay.

the end is near.

Darn. Just 6 lessons. I don't think it'd be that painful, will it? The fact that I can't really swim doesn't help, but 6 lessons. Ah. Just 6 of them. I figured I'll just wade around in the baby pool and suffer the embarrassment of having to walk my way to the other end of the pool since I can't bloody swim. Oh bollocks! It sure beats having to do my 2.4km run though!

I had a great time at school today. Perhaps I should define "great" for a minute. No, not ooo-ah-ay "great" but better-than-the-normal-bored-crap-I-get-everyday "great". I understood all the lectures, including the one by OAG. Lolol. At least that's the last lecture she's giving us.

French lesson today was fantastic. We were doing a debate about whether marriage is beneficial, why or why not. My group had Victor and Mélanie on our side, so translation to french was no problem at all! Hahaha...We even learnt some swear words! But that's inconsequential, really! It was quite fun having them around and in my group. Wahahaha. Very amusing, to say the least.

Swimming tomorrow. Bah. I feel so stressed already. Choir's stressing me to no end and I can't dismiss the nagging guilt of not going for so many practices. It's just for a few more months and perhaps, I wouldn't drop french for the world. French classes are fun and it's challenging to do the language at AO level. Mr Chan's really nice too. Helps that he allows us to eat and sms in class!

I was just talking with Charmaine over MSN the other day. She remarked about her missing the language centre. Hm. I think I'll miss the language centre a lot when I actually finish my AO levels there. Afterall, some of my best lessons in school were held at that pretty elusive building tucked away in one corner of Bishan. French has been fun to study, though I'd admit that it was torturous during sec 3 when they were slamming us with all the hardcore grammar. Now at AO levels where grammar is expected to be "there", we get to do more interactive stuff like debates and watching videos for listening comprehension and all that crap. It's pretty useless and not very constructive, but it's FUN. Sigh. I've ambivalent feelings about third language, really. One part of me is proud that I managed to pull through, or rather, will pull through, 5 years of learning a foreign language while the other part of me is bitching about how long the hours are and how the lessons always seem to clash with CCAs. I love french, period. Never mind the not-so-fluent standard of mine, but at least I can hold myself rather decently in a conversation.

I'll do my DELF 1 and DELF 2 exams soon. Perhaps next year? I think I might do them all at one go, since DELF 1 is easy and DELF 2 is rather much like the AO level standard. I want my diplômes!

Ok. Off to mug biology for the one hour twenty minute tutorial tomorrow. How painful.

[edit] Yes, click here for the pictures to the NDP rehearsal show. T'was great fun![/edit]

ambivalent feelings

Thursdays are great. Heavenly and God-sent. Wonder why? 'Cause I end at the glorious time of 2.40pm! Hallelujah. My earliest day ever without having any commitments after school. Don't underestimate the power of the absence of commitments. It made me a whole lot happier than I usually am throughout the whole day. Wow. Even OAG sounded interesting. Ok. Just kidding on the last one. =P

Choir practice ended on a low note yesterday. It was one of the practices where it leaves you feeling inadequate and down. No, don't get me wrong. It isn't the practice's fault. It's my fault. I admit it, I didn't memorise the scores well - and I don't exactly have a good reason for that. C'mon, who am I trying to kid? I've been a chorister for a good whole 4 years. I should have known better than to go for a practice without getting the score into my head first.

"Sean, do you know your lyrics?"

I'll never forget that. We were singing Salmo 150 at that point in time and happened that I was an alto, albeit with a horrible creaky voice because I was turning into a man (lol!). Anyway, I had quite a rough time trying to reach the notes and I kept rolling my eyes. Call that the bait for the boogeyman. It's a big no-no. Turned out Ms T thought I forgot my lyrics and that one question sent blood rushing up to my face in 5 milliseconds. You guys know how easily I blush. Bah.

I've gotten over the practice already. Just have to keep working harder. Sometimes I wonder if I'm really improving fast enough. After 4 solid years in choir, of which two years I was a bass, I don't think I've really "gotten" the right technique. Yet. The two years of being an alto don't count because I was singing using a different register altogether. But yes, I digress. I know how a good technique should "feel" like. Air behind the teeth, resonance, LOTS of head voice which I so desperately need and an opened "back of the mouth". Yes. A lot don't make sense to a non-chorister, but seriously, it's not easy to achieve. Just imagine! You have to juggle the words, be it in Hungarian (Yes, HUNGARIAN!), Japanese, French (ohhhh man) or Latin, and still be able to focus on producing good sound. Not to mention some songs require actions, like Bin-nam-ma. Those songs are musically the hardest to sing, in my opinion. With poorly coordinated limbs like mine, it's frightfully difficult to sing and to "dance" simultaneously.

I ramble too much sometimes. But it's my blog, so stuff it.

Pfsh. Energetics. When did chemistry become such a pain?

Oh well. At least I have the NDP show to look forward to on saturday.

À la prochaine fois! (Till next time. That's what it means. And jingyong, where did you learn your french? It's accurate, albeit a little offensive! Hahaha...)

like butter on bread

I need to rant a little. I'm beginning to think that I've taken on too many things for my own good. But I'll carry on. Already, I'm feeling like I'm being spread like butter on bread - a thin layer, at that! Yes, breathe. Ah.

When I was in secondary one, which was eons ago, I had to endure the pains of swimming lessons for PE. The dark and humid changing room, the embarrassment of being labelled the "D" group for the hopelessly landbound mammals and not forgetting the fact that we were all wadling around in the baby pool while the others were learning life-guard skills in the 1m to 1.6m pool. It all amounted to a whole lot of embarrassment. I still remember Abel was with me then! But I bet he's like a proficient swimmer now. I mean, you can't possibly remain landbound for 4 years of your teenage years, right? Right. I did. I'm still as human as I'm supposed to be - on land, that is. I don't think I was ever built for the water. No streamline body shape (thank God!), no big feet and no big hands. Hm. I can swim like, ten metres? But that's all I can go.

Guess what. I'm going to have swimming lessons for the next ten weeks of PE. When Ms C said that, my heart instantly paused for a few beats and I was in a comatose for a good 5 seconds as all the *bad* memories came flooding back. ARGH. How can I ever survive PE lessons? To think I was quite happy that our class didn't get to do football. Any other sport would have been fine. I'd even volunteer for Dance sport. Swimming really beats them all that being the most unpopular sport for PE. Ok. Tiff, Xuanyi and I are going to form the LMC. No, not some economics jargon again, but that stands for landbound mammals club. Application is open to all who can't swim and would like to have some "comrades" who are equally hopeless at perfecting the art of the synchronising your four limbs to survive in the waters of the swimming pool.

Ok. Bad news aside. I had a dinner hosted by the french embassy (take that!) at Beaulieu House, which is a quiant little restaurant off Sembawang Park. Happens that Sembawang Park is about ten minutes away from my house, which is good for me. Haha...I sat next to Victor, of course. At first, I was rather dismayed that Victor chose to sit at that table since I had already found good seats beside Anrong and Damien. Damien has cool Jedi hair. I shall take a picture of his hair the next time. Hehehe. Anyway, I was sitting with this whole table of RGS girls. No, I don't have anything personal against RGS girls, but the thought of sitting with a whole table of girls is well, frightening. Thank God the people at my table were very very humourous. Hahaha...I think it'll be great fun at the end of the year when we have the long flight to Paris. More bonding time with the sec 3 guys will be great too!

Shall post some pictures that Victor took - sometime. Now, it's time for bed. Sore throat, runny nose and a tad of a fever. Plus the fact that I'm going to be thrashing about in the water like a madman for the next ten weeks. Bleak. What could get worse!

Now you don't tell me.

君はとても好きだったわ

For those that don't understand what that means, I do! Hahaha...It means I like you very much. Hm. That's quite weird actually 'cause in the translation from the lyrics, it means I miss you very much or something like that. Oh well. I have no idea how to pronounce that though! Haha...miki something. Ha. Zr said miki sounds better than anata. Ha...=))

I've so in love with japanese ok. Recently, I've been drowning myself in the song "watarasebashi" by aya matsuura. I was in a conversation with yanjun the other day and when I told her I'm listening to aya's songs, she told me aya sucks. *faints* Hahaha...I actually thought aya sings ok for a pop singer, considering the level of pop singing nowadays. And by that, I'm not referring to the diva league of Carrie Underwood, which leaves me swooning under her feet. But the song it nice. And the fact that it's in japanese is also waaaaay cool. Japanese pronunciation has something about it that makes it different from say, french. When you are able to rattle off in japanese effortlessly, I think it sounds cooler and much more sophisticated than if you are able to speak in french. Well, not that I can't speak french, just that I'm not fluent. =)

I'm going to find somewhere where I can learn Japanese. Ha. That's something I quite regret. If I had a choice, I would have done BOTH japanese and french as third languages. I like them both a lot. French opens up a good part of Europe, which will aid me in the future, while japanese is just pretty fun to learn. And to write! Haha...

Not forgetting that they have fantastic music. Sigh.

Ok. Gotta complete those shitty 3D trigonometry questions. DAMN.

It's been a long week

Yes, amen. It's been such a long week for me, despite the fact that I only had to go to school on two of the days. Oh well.

59/100 for maths. (Shock number one)
The national day preview clashes with college day (Shock number two)

Now it must be a bad coincidence that the national day preview clashes with college day. I knew things wouldn't be so smooth-sailing. It hasn't helped a bit that I'm such a workaholic, as defined by my hectic schedule, that I'm feeling quite bad about not spending that much with Victor. And just look at the staggering pile of homework that has started to accumulate - just after two days.

-GP tables to fill in
-GP essay or GP essay outline
-3D trigonometry tutorial (MATHS!)
-Gene expression tutorial (this one can wait I guess.)
-Energetics tutorial (gags)

Yes. Only after two days! Isn't it faintly reminiscent of how water rushes out of the dam just after the flood gates are opened? Only that this time, I'm just inundated with loads of work. Drowning in them already.

Maths was bad. I didn't expect myself to score so badly frankly and I was rather disappointed at my mark. I mean, 59 is hardly laudable. Starts with 5, so it has the "oh you just made it through!" implication. But I didn't. I made so many careless mistakes. Mistakes which shouldn't have been committed if only I had paid more attention and not get lost amongst all the x-es and y-es and what-have-you. Can you imagine I actually made a mistake in the proving of a sigma notation question? Horrifying. Lost out a lot of marks...Gah.

However, the worst paper has got to be biology. The most traumatic of all. And I'll get it back in two weeks time. Biology teachers must have the time of their life trying to cross out all the junk that we write on our scripts...especially mine! Bah. I didn't know half of what was going on in the structured paper, even though the paper was do-able, to say the least! It was nonetheless hard. Average mark will probably be a fail mark. Close to that of maths, I'd think.

Scored 85% for my french test. Good enough, considering all the hard work I put into it! Not like you can study for it anyway, since there are two comprehensions, one summary question, one 200 word essay question and a ten blank cloze passage. Comprehensions are much tougher than those at O level admittedly, but the summary's the worst. Take pity on me 'cause I even have to change words in french, despite my limited vocabulary. OUCH.

That's all for the week I guess. Will update more about what happens tomorrow at choir and at the informal outing with the french peeps. Ta.

*bushed*

le premier jour

Victor's finally here in Singapore! Yay. It's quite fun having him around. He speaks a lot of english, much more than I expected really. Haha...I've got to practise more french with him around!! I keep lapsing into english, which isn't a good thing. Not that I'm going to have any more english exams!

Anyway, we were at Breadtalk today after I picked him up from the language centre when we decided to get some bread home to eat. Turned out that I picked two pork floss bread (oh so heavenly!) for both of us. We chatted until we reached the cashier and that's when the big shock came. I realised I had no more money left except for two dollars! Gee. I even had to resort to asking him for money! Geeeeeeee. All I wanted to be then was an ostrich. Can you imagine how embarrassing it was? Gah gah.

Half day of lessons tomorrow! Yay.

Turned out I didn't do too badly for economics. Hope I don't screw up my essay big time - which is quite likely considering all the crap I wrote in there. I just wrote whatever econs concept came to mind! hahaha...I had this ominous feeling about Miss Chua talking about our GP essays. Hm.

Yay. Off to talk more to Victor. Hahaha...He'll be coming to school on monday, so try to refrain from going all gaga when you girls see him, yes? =)) Will be meeting up with Christl and Isaac so that we can go as a group to attract ALL the attention. Heh.

End of blocks

Finally. But frankly, I don't feel the sudden release of tension from all the studying. No "I'm free as a lark!!" thing going on in my head. In fact, I was rather sullen at the end of the biology paper. No prizes for guessing why. It was quite bad. I'd be happy to pass!! And that is based on the optimistic assumption that I'm going to fail my structured questions *decently*. I thought that was the worst section of all. Oh man, thinking about the paper just makes my insides cringe.

21st July - That'll give me some time to be prepared for the horrible results.

Song practice in the afternoon was crap. It was so...childish! Especially with the movements. But as I was the only J1 there, I guess I was the only one feeling any sort of resistance towards doing weird hand motions while singing songs like "vois sur ton chemin" and "Singapore Town". Whatever. I'll be accomodating for once. Afterall, it's part of the experience! Talking about that, the french guy is coming tomorrow!! Ohhhh man. Can't wait. This will be the first time I'll get to talk to a native french person of my age!! Yay. Ok, there was once in french class during sec two that we got to talk to a girl two years our senior. The dialogue was very much a "monologue" because our spoken french was just horrid! Imagine. I can barely speak what I consider fluent french after 4 and a half staggering years and you can extrapollate that data to my ability of spoken french when I was in sec two. There there. Not too encouraging.

SYO concert was good. It was better than I'd expected. I really enjoyed it, considering it's my first orchestra concert and it was nice seeing what I learn in theory come alive on stage with old favourites like "Blue Danube" and "Radetsky March". Hope I got the spelling right. But the programme was quite entertaining. I now have a whole new respect for Brahms and people who can play the violin really well (including mingtse!). It was amazing seeing how proficient people are at their respective instruments. It's really a tour de force for me. Shall go for more concerts to expose myself to greater varieties for music. Most importantly, I must practise practise practise. I do want to complete my diploma! At least DipABRSM. I'm not going for LRSM of FRSM (gee~!!)...just a humble diploma certificate will do, if only to prove to myself that I can play Baroque pieces! *groans*

No school tomorrow. That's always a good thing, isn't it?

heroes of might and magic 4

I'm so darn addicted to the game! sigh. Managed to study only the whole of genetics and mitosis yesterday. Hahaha...after which I succumbed to the temptation to play heroes. Woot. Quite a nice win, although the game wouldn't let me win even though I've fulfilled the win conditions. Hm. Amassed all my phoenixes, my black dragons and managed to get a stack of 140 unicorns! Hahaha...the stack of unicorns rocked. Just one slash with the horn and the enemy stack is down! D-o-w-n, down! Whee. Plus I used Dragon Strength and Mass Snake Strike. Yay. Nature rocks. Nothing beats summoning another stack of 10 Faerie Dragons to thrash the enemy further. Ha.

Anyway, I've been waking up very late lately (pun not intended), and I think it's giving me eyebags. Ew. Better sleep by 10 today.

Have I told you? The pieces for the grade 8 syllabus this year are sooooo good. I'm jealous! I had to play Debussy for my third piece! Not that Debussy wasn't fun to play, but it was friggin' hard. Sigh. Now there are soooo many nice pieces by Liszt, Poulenc and Chopin to choose from. But I'll never go through grade 8 aural again! *shudders*

Must collect my grade 8 theory certificate from my teacher. I've been procrastinating because my teacher's house is rather out of the way. Bah. Will do it later.

Off to do bio now. Now. No more blogging, no more playing heroes. Hell, no more one hour flings with my piano. No no no. It's time for carbs! And proteins! And lipids! And and...*tries in vain to sound interested and enthusiastic*

interesting

Yes! Finally an interesting day to blog about!

Let's start in the morning. Usually, my mum fetches my brother and I to the Dairy Farm bus stop where we take a bus to school. Apparently, it's supposed to be faster. But quite frankly, I can't tell a difference besides me being able to sleep in the car and not having to stand all the way (a good 8 stops mind you!) to Newton. I was listening to the radio as usual and this song played on the radio which had a funny cadence at the ending. Interesting, I thought. Began to hum out the keys in order to find out whether it was a modulation. Indeed. Modulation to the supertonic at the end. At the end! Now how rare is that. Hahaha...

Next interesting thing would have to be the blasted maths block test. Oh my blasted cows. It was so. Darn. Difficult. I could feel my brain cells dying by the trillions with each passing question. It didn't help that I was living in a time warp where time zooms past by the hour. Question 6, *zoom*! One hour gone. Question 10, *zoom*! Another hour gone. After that, what happens is really history. The mad rush to complete "all the questions I thought I'd know how to do when I actually don't". Blah. I did manage to complete a good 9 out of the 13 questions with the other 4 being just expanded forms of the first equation. Hahaha...hoping to squeeze that very one mark. You never know when you might need it to pass, really! 3 hours flashed past. Thank God. IQ report : down to dangerously low levels. Time to play games.

And I did. Ha. Installed Age of Wonders : Shadow Magic. It's a great game, really. I just need time to get used to the interface. I have to admit though, that it's not as manoeuvrable (I actually can spell that word!) as Heroes of Might and Magic, but that's a biased statement 'cause I'm actually a die hard fan of HoMM 3 and HoMM 4. I actually played HoMM 2 when I was young! The good old days when I could summon a whole legion of phoenixes and burn the soot outta those dragons who think they're "oh so big and strong". There're phoenixes in HoMM 4 as well, but they just look like chickens on fire. Serious.
"Help! I'm on fire!! *ouch ouch ouch ouch* Someone please for goodness sake use a fire extinguisher on the poor chicken!" Yes, I'm aware that phoenix means burning dove, but seriously, the phoenix still looks rather cheesy on the map. Still packs a decent punch, but I'd pick the faerie dragons anyday for their killer Lightning Bolt technique. One good bolt of lightning from a stack of them is enough to send several dragons outta play and into lalaland where they truly belong.

Played Age of Wonders well into the afternoon (fun!). Took a screenshot of me being caged in my bugs while my hero, a beautiful Archon, gets thrased by slime from all directions. Poor poor thing. I just can't seem to locate the screenshot folder though. Argh. They really should have a guide on how to locate the folder for every game. Bollocks.

Next came french lesson! Less than half the class came for french today, 'cause most of the people from my class are from raffles and those rafflesians have just completed their blocks, no wait, common tests, today and are thus free from the enslavement of endless mugging to cope with unbelievably difficult papers. People like me are still hopelessly enslaved - so don't rub it in. It was fun though! We did two closures (read : cloze passage, in french) which obviously isn't very productive. I honestly thought he'd give back the controle (french CA) results, but nooooo. He didn't. Awww hell.

Remember I told you about the time we had to build these castles for lesson? Our castle turned out wonderful, albeit with the "loose" windows, and we won!! Yay!

yep! Those are my buddies at french class! We're forever crapping. Hahaha...the little yellow thing in the middle is our prize! Three french books courtesy of the centre. wooooot. =)) Quite cool really. And they're not exactly a pain to read. Although I suspect they're rejects from the library. Shhhhh!

Yay! That's the book I won. It's called Papa. And I wonder what's in the book. Shall read it today! hahaha...I realised after doing the closures that I've forgotten a good half of my french! Not too good, especially when my oral's in october. Yikes. Anyway, happy belated birthday, yams! =)) Hope you like the chocolates! (She's the girl on the right! Wish her happy birthday!)

Ok. Off to sleep. I've got a whole day of proteins and genes waiting for me tomorrow. Sigh. Just one more paper to go!
